AgriTrust Platform ("AgriTrust", "we", "us", or "our") is a leading agricultural fintech, digital cooperative infrastructure, and farm produce escrow system operated by Riyawa Contractors Nigeria Limited, a legally incorporated entity registered under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

This Privacy Policy applies to all services, web portals (agritrust.ng), mobile apps, AI agronomist diagnostic models, digital cooperative wallets, and Web3 crypto settlement gateways provided to farmers, cooperative unions, input merchants, commodity buyers, and institutional partners.
2. Legal Bases & NDPR / NDPA Compliance
AgriTrust processes personal data strictly in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA 2023) and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR), as well as international data protection principles (including the General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR where applicable to diaspora transactions).
- Contractual Performance: Necessary to maintain your user account, execute marketplace orders, disburse government/cooperative subsidies, and manage escrow releases.
- Legal & Regulatory Obligation: Mandatory compliance with anti-money laundering (AML), combating financing of terrorism (CFT), Know-Your-Customer (KYC) directives of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and tax obligations.
- Legitimate Interest: Fraud prevention, credit scoring for seasonal farmer loans, platform diagnostics, and enhancing agricultural advisory algorithms.
- Explicit Consent: Where you opt-in to precision satellite agronomy alerts, marketing broadcasts, or browser cookies.
3. Categories of Information We Collect
We collect information directly from you, automatically through your device interactions, and via verified third-party integrations:
- A. Personal & KYC Identity Data Full legal name, national identity credentials (NIN, BVN where mandated for tier verification), date of birth, residential address, LGA, state, photo ID, cooperative affiliation, and next-of-kin details.
- B. Financial & Banking Data Dedicated virtual account numbers (Wema Bank, Sterling Bank), linked bank account numbers for cash withdrawals, Flutterwave payment tokens, and debit card billing records. We never store raw CVV codes or banking passwords.
- C. Farm Telemetry & Agronomy Data Farm holdings, GPS farm boundary polygons, crop varieties cultivated, planting dates, soil test parameters, disease diagnostics scanned through our AI Crop Doctor, and yield records.
- D. Technical & Log Data IP address, browser type, operating system, geolocation, device identifiers, session timestamps, and activity logs.
4. Web3, Cryptocurrency & Blockchain Data
AgriTrust provides a multi-asset settlement layer enabling farmers and buyers to settle cross-border produce trades in Tether (USDT) across TRON (TRC-20), Polygon POS (EVM), and BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20).
Transactions executed on public blockchains (such as TRON and Polygon) are immutable and publicly recorded by the underlying network. When you deposit, swap, or withdraw USDT, the transaction hash (TxID), wallet addresses, and transfer amounts become part of the decentralized public ledger. AgriTrust never publishes your personal identification information (PII), name, or phone number on the blockchain.
- Wallet Public Keys: We generate and store unique public receiving addresses tied to your user ID for deposit routing and automated blockchain event tracking.
- Private Key Custody: Your funds are secured using multi-signature enterprise-grade cold/hot wallet architecture. Private keys are never exposed in user browser sessions.
- Cryptographic PIN Hashes: Your 4-digit security PIN is stored as an irreversible cryptographic hash (`password_hash` with BCRYPT/ARGON2) and is required to authorize all currency swaps and external payouts.
5. How We Use Your Data
Your personal data is used solely for legitimate agricultural and financial services, including:
Trade Settlement & Escrow
Facilitating marketplace purchases, locking escrow funds during produce transit, and executing disbursements upon verified delivery inspection.
Subsidies & Grants
Verifying farmer identity for subsidized fertilizers, certified seed packages, and governmental agricultural empowerment disbursements.
AI Agronomic Advisory
Training and serving precision agronomic advice, crop disease diagnostics, localized weather forecasting, and market demand predictions.
Regulatory Compliance
Complying with statutory reporting requirements, screening against sanctioned entities, and resolving dispute claims.
7. Security Safeguards & Data Retention
We deploy defense-in-depth security measures to protect your digital assets and records against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration:
- Data Encryption: All web traffic is secured with 256-bit TLS 1.3 encryption. Sensitive database tables are encrypted at rest with AES-256.
- Payout Authorization: Financial withdrawals and currency swaps require dual authentication: account credentials + your confidential 4-digit security PIN.
- Automated Blockchain Scanners: All deposits are checked on-chain to detect transaction re-use, front-running, or invalid hashes.
- Retention Period: Transaction ledgers and KYC records are retained for seven (7) years following account deactivation in compliance with Nigerian financial record-keeping statutory rules.
